Mean Mugs Milkshake Bar in South Carolina

"My family had a blast bowling at 810, the milkshake place is an underrated gem. The bartender Nat saved me and my wife a ton of time by telling us we could order ice cream at the bar with our drinks helping us avoid missing any of the Steelers game we came to watch last night."

"i’m like a month late in writing this but i just needed to rave about my experience on 08/02/23. this place was phenomenal, both in terms of the actual milkshake and customer service. i got the realist and it was the milkshake of my dreams. i assumed this is the kind of place you only go once for the novelty and the photo opportunities but i was wrong: this was the kind of place i would return to over and over. it’s probably better for my health that i don’t live near it. i also got the chance to try a brownie ice cream they were experimenting with using and it was delicious. they didn’t advertise any dairy free options online but we asked about it and we were pleasantly surprised to find they offer some — although i got mine full of dairy because yum. i was helped by kennedy and coco and they were so delightful that they made my day; whatever they are being paid, it should be quadrupled for their amazing service and demeanor. highly recommend anybody and everybody go to mean mug and i hope they will all enjoy it as much as i did."

"We went here for my birthday and loved it! I got the Happy Camper and it was delicious. My mom got the Silly Monkey, which she liked a lot but had to bring the muffin topping home bc there was so much. They are large and a bit messy milkshakes. The amount of a single scoop of ice cream is a tad small for the price in my opinion. The milkshakes are definitely worth it though. I’m looking forward to when they get into their permanent spot and have the mugshots available. The staff were all so friendly, too. Will definitely be coming back!"

"We stopped in at about 9pm while driving around on 17 looking for something sweet. We ordered the Bigshot as a Sunday and The Optimist as a shake. We liked that you could get your order as a shake or Sunday. Both were good. Service was great. It was the one woman show that night. She took our orders and got them out as quick as she could. As we were eating there was a rush of about 10 people and she did the best she could. Not sure what happened that there was only one person working the shop. The manager or owner should have stepped up to help out. Anyway it's worth stopping in if your in the area."

"We had The Realist and The Optimist. So sweet, so fun and sooo good. The staff was friendly, helpful and fun to chat with. We even stayed for a few rounds of bowling. Thanks Mean Mugs for a great experience."

"6/15/2023 Got here just as 810 opened. Very interesting lineup of milkshake options. My wife got the Realist and I had the Silly Monkey. Both came in nice glass mugs. My Monkey was delicious. Even the banana nut muffin was good. It is also nice that they come with wide straws. The staff was quick and friendly, though we were the only ones there since it was early. From what I’ve seen the line can get fairly long in the evenings - but worth the wait."

"Absolutely the best shakes we have had.. staff was great to top it all off. I tried all of these and it was a toss up between the banana pudding or peach as the best but was so so good all the way around.. 6 for 6 in my book. Great job!"

"I really think this is a wonderful idea. We had visited the other milkshake place formally located in the same spot similar idea but as an adult it's nice that we can add a little something if we do drink alcohol and still have the sweetness to go with it."
